Remoter Fusion has to be installed and run in each virtual machine to be able to connect to them remotely using Remoter.
Not sure about your vCloud director question, though.

I think he's trying to connect to a vCloud server with Remoter expecting it to serve similar behavior than the VMware administration tools. We use vSphere ourselves and they only offer administration tools (like vSphere Client) for Microsoft Windows. Sadly I don't think that VMware allows other developers to build alternate tools.
