I guess you can always go back to an older beta version or try the Microsoft Remote Desktop client. Speaking for myself I was unable to reproduce your issue. I do experience the black screen, but just for a few seconds when connecting to a remote PC with a bad internet connection (or high resolution). Did you try to connect to a local PC via RDP to make sure it's not an issue with your connection?
