International Keyboard

Postby mordor » Sat Dec 03, 2011 1:41 pm

I'm using remoter to control my iMac. I use international (Hungarian) keyboard layout on mac. When I connect with remoter vnc, a keyboard layout is confused: press "0" on iPad get "ö" on mac. I think remoter send scan code but it mapped to other character in mac that not using English layout. The problem not occours in RDP session when using "RDP unicode" switch is on. Any solution for this ?

Hi Mordor,

You say you have a problem controlling your iMac, but then you mention you're using RDP. Are you running windows on your iMac? Do you have some sort of RDP server for Mac? I'm confused.

Thanks,
Raf.

I'm controlling iMac through builtin vnc service with remoter. The keyboard problematic in this case. Try switch your mac layout to hun and send a 0 ( zero ) to it with ipad.

I just mentioned the remoter RDP works fine when unicode switched on. Yes I have more than one mac and using OSX (lion) but also have Windows7 through bootcamp, and have a Win2008 server (and a router to test ssh :-) )

I see.. sorry, I misread that.
Yes, the problem is on the server side. RDP and VNC are very different beasts, and unfortunately there is no unicode mode for VNC. I'm planning on making some updates to RemoterFusion (Mac) to handle messages directly for keyboard events, and this should fix problems. But we'll see.
I'll post something when I have something ready to be tested.

Thanks,
Raf.
