Screen switching (three finger swipe)

I've been trying to find some information on how to switch screens using a keyboard and mouse. On my macbook I use the three finger swipe, but now I'm using a mac mini and when I open an rdp session I am not able to use the ctrl arrow key to switch back to the mac or to another rdp session.
Can someone explain to me how this is done from a keyboard?

I never could find a way to switch screens once I had switched to a RDP full screen session.
I bought a magic trackpad and am able to use that to do the screen switching.
If anyone finds a way to do this with the keyboard I would appreciate knowing how.
