[Solved] - Feature request: ability to modify port

Postby kpalivec » Tue Jan 04, 2011 6:43 pm

First let me say I love remoter. Thanks for the app. It helps me out alot!

I have several machines at the office and I set custom vnc ports on them so I can forward each through my firewall.
I couldnt find any configuration on the client for setting a host custom vnc port. Is it possible to add this?

I like to keep my ports set to non defaults on my forwarded ports to avoid making it easier for the script kiddies if I can! LOL!!

Thanks!!

Hi!,

The next version of Remoter will make port selection easier and more clear. For now, there is a way to set the port to a non-standard port: you need to prepend the portnumber with a dash '-'. This indicates to remoter that you are specifying a port number and not a desktop number.

"Hostname:-1234" -- Connects to hostname at TCP port 1234.

Hope this helps!,

Raf.
