French keyboard mapping problem

Postby Eddyk4 » Sun Apr 01, 2012 3:59 pm

I recently updated to version 3.4.1 of Remoter VNC
I use it essentially from my iPad 2 under iOS 5.1 (which was installed at the same moment as the Remoter upgrade)

System is French.

I have a problem with the keyboard mapping.

Apparently, all characters are correct EXCEPT the digit 0 which is replaced by the character à (a with diacritical mark)

I don't know if iOS 5.1 or Remoter is the culprit.

I will try to reinstall the previous version of Remoter to see if that works.

Thanks for any help.

To reply to my own post, I just tried VNC 3.1

Same problem : digit 0 maps to à

Bad news : it is only when connecting to Lion (10.7.3) that the problem is present ; NO problem connecting to Snow Leopard 10.6.8

When connecting with Remoter VNC to a distant SL machine, and from there to a Lion machine using screen sharing, digit 0 is working (most of accented characters don't).
So it seems at least Apple did a correct job with Remote desktop client.

Apologies : I realized all this is a known problem since many months. Alzheimer helping I even didn't notice I already mentionned it months ago...
