Wrong Keyboard Translation in RDP Sessions

Hi,

I have problems with my keyboard translation (Swiss German) during RDP sessions. I have a wrong character mapping (my alt key and characters like ä, ö, ü do not get 'used', or other keys that are translated wrong). Until the Backslash which is translated into a slash, I do not have any problems in SSH sessions (no experience in VNC).

Hi Marcus,

To enable international (non-US characters) in RDP, you need to use the "RDP Unicode" setting, which can be enabled in the session editor. It's one of the settings under "Advanced", so be sure to click on the "Advanced" button in the top-left to find it.

Hi,

Thank you, this helps with most characters. The only problem I have is with the alt key (characters like backslash, pipe and curly braces uses the alt key). The alt key gets ignored completely.

Thanks for the feedback, marcus!, I've corrected the behavior for Alt while in Unicode mode. This update will be included in the next release (and beta). I'm doing RDP updates ATM, hope to have a beta ready soon.

For your information. The beta 1.0.2b does not solve the problem with the alt key.

It's supposed to. It does in my tests. Are you sure you're using 1.0.2B? Check the "About Remoter" screen to make sure.

Hi,

I'm using Remoter 1.0.4 (3.4.4) on Mac OS X 10.7.3 with Swedish keyboard and I still experience the problem described in this thread. I'm using "RDP Unicode" found under "Advanced" in the settings. Is this a "new" problem or didn't the fix for this make into the latest release maybe?
