Port forwarding when there are multiple machines

Postby neilio » Thu Feb 02, 2012 3:31 pm

Hi!

Got a quick question - I have multiple machines running RemoterFusion here, and need to set up individual port forward rules for each one on my router. If I manually set each one up incrementally (5901 / 15901, 5902 / 15902, etc.) what ports do those forward to internally?

Is it
5901 -> 5900 and
15901 - 15901?

Thanks!

Hi neilio,

If you use the manual mapping in RF, you will need to set up the port forwardings manually in your router:

Example:
Computer A:
Set up RF to use 5900/15900
Router port forward for computer A: redirect incoming port 5900 to computer A's port 5900. Redirect port 15900 to computer A's port 15900.

Computer B:
Set up RF to use 5901/15901
Router port forward for computer B: redirect incoming port 5901 to computer B's port 5900(5900, not a typo). Redirect 15901 to computer B's 15900. (not 15901)

Computer C:
Set up RF to use 5902/15902
Router port forward for computer C: redirect incoming port 5902 to computer C's port 5900. Redirect 15902 to computer C's 15900.

Hope this helps clarify,

Raf.
