losing setup entered data

im a little new to the iPad, so I'm not completely used the the touch scrolling. when I am editing or entering a configuration into your utility, I find myself trying to scroll on the edge of the pop up window to avoid inadvertently selecting another data field. unfortunately, when I miss the window altogether and just hit the standard screen background, the setup pop up window goes away and I seem to have lost all the data I had out in. once is annoying, but when I managed to do it 3 or 4 times in succession, I found myself wishing to defenestrate the iPad. is there a way to get that window back with the entered data after mis-selecting the background?

Unfortunately, no. Once you tap outside of the "popover", the popover is closed and all data is discarded.
