[Solved - 1.8] german keyboard layout

Postby pitterpoehse » Thu Dec 02, 2010 11:44 am

Is it somehow possible to change the Keyboard layout to the german one? For example y and z are currently reversed for me.

Make sure you're using Direct in remoter settings, and that both the iPhone/ipad and the computer are set up with the same language.

That's very interesting. I'll attempt to recreate later today. What happens if you select US Layout in Remoter? Also, which VNC server are you running on your computer?

Thanks,

Raf.

There is no difference if I change to US Layout, I've also been trying to change back and forward a few times but it showed no effect. I am running the built-in Mac OS X VNC-Server.

By the way I wanted to let you know that I think there's a little bug inside the app, I had the keyboard popped out and opened up the settings menu and what I got was that: http://cl.ly/1R0l1T2C2w171m0y0F3D
I've also experienced that when I was opening up the server list.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the bug report! Always welcome. Can't recreate, but I'll still make some changes in the code to prevent this.
About the strange keyboard (layout) problem. What version of Mac OS are you running? I could add a "German Layout" for you, could you send me a picture of your Mac's actual keyboard? (I need the key's physical order to generate the mapping)

Thanks!,

I am running 10.6.5. Here's the picture of my keyboard: http://cl.ly/102w3o330E2O2Q1p3W0e the letter to the left of the "S" is an "A", I'm sorry about the quality.

I guess you'll need to update the app in order to make the new layout available?

Yes I will. But if you send me your UDID (DM me), I can give you access to the 1.8Beta, and as soon as the new layout is available, it will be there.
Thanks for the keyboard pic, I'll try and get the mapping done today.

I really can't recreate this problem. Is really strange that you're seeing this. I'll add this layout and let you know when you can get the beta.

Thanks,

Raf.
