OK, scratch that, I see that the external ip is in the session parameters on the remoter vnc software on my phone, and it matches the external ip reported on the fusion software. I tried redoing the computer name and re-registering and editing the session on my phone but that doesn't seem to have helped. Oh well.

Hi Pantompi,

Forget the external IP address, it's issued by your ISP and like the internal IP addresses on your network it constantly changes - it's not important for you at this stage.

What's important is the internal IP addresses of each computer or appliance on your network.

Your router's DHCP issues IP addresses to each computer every time it connects to network, and this will be different each time.

This is probably why your connection gets refused - it can't find the IP address it was using before because the computer has a different one this time.

To overcome this there is the possibility to take over the issuing of IP addresses from the DHCP in the router, and apply a fixed IP address to a computer (it's called a static IP) which it will use every time it connects. You can do this for each individual computer on the network.
