No Screen Refresh

Postby henry » Mon Oct 17, 2011 12:16 am

I am running ultravnc server on windows 7. I can connect and have no problem using other vnc clients for pc and also other iphone apps, but when i connect via remoter it never will refresh the screen other than the initial screen load. i am using an iphone 4s. if i click on the initial image that loaded, my mouse clicks are being transmitted, but am never seeing any update on the screen. i have to disconnect and reconnect then i can see what my clicks did during the last connection. this is the manner in which i have to use it now... any ideas?

Please try changing the polling method of ultravnc. Right-click on the ultravnc icon on the taskbar notification area and select "Properties". Then try different polling methods.
Nothing has changed on Remoter's end, and connecting to ultravnc is known to work.
This could also be caused by changes on ultraVNC's end. You could also try ultraVNC 1.0.8.2 (this is known to work correctly).

Please let me know if this helps,

Hi henry,

Not sure if you're still having this problem, but here's the work-around I posted for another user having a similar issue:

OK, here's the work-around if you can't get ultraVNC to send screen updates:

-Go into Remoter Config (in Remoter VNC), scroll down to "Other Settings"
-The second option there is "Connection Heartbeat": turn it ON.

The connection heartbeat will poll periodically the server to send screen updates. They're going to be slow but it should work, until we figure out why ultraVNC is not updating for you.

Hope this helps!,
