Screen is off center

Postby phelpsa06 » Thu Jan 05, 2012 8:20 pm

Hi have just set up remoter/VNC and at first i thought i was having trouble because when i used my phone to access my computer the mouse wasn't moving. Eventually when i moved the mouse far enough it moved! I have a dual monitor setup and instead of being centered and active on the main monitor it treats the other one (extended desktop) as if it had all the open windows on it.

This makes clicking on stuff really had because you have to guess where it is as related to the other screen.

Is there a setting i missed to tell me phone that the screen size is bigger than it thinks it is?

Thanks

Hi phelpsa06,

This is unfortunately caused by the way Lion handles multiple-monitors. I've created a work-around, but it requires you to run RemoterFusion in your Mac (remoterfusion.remoterlabs.com), and set up your session as a RemoterFusion session. (this also requires the RF add-on).

The alternative is to change your multi-monitor set up so that the main screen is on the left. See here for more details and discussions:

Thanks a lot, i will look at these solutions when I get off work.

I was afraid someone wasn't going to be able to interpret what I was trying to say, but I think you do perfectly. Thanks for the input and I will let you know how it works out.

Thanks again!
