Hi,

I'm trying to use remoter vnc to talk to an old Ubuntu xrdp (3.0.2-1-lucid) from remoter complete. Can't find version, but it's the latest (I read the instructions on the forum page ( in app: settings -> help/about ), IOS version 5.1.1 on an iPhone , there is no settings and config does not have a help option) . To be able to type at all I had to set the unicode option on for this server; that works fine for most characters, except things like [enter] and [delete/backspace]. Keyboard is set to direct, I tried UnitedStates, it made no difference. The interesting bit is on the login screen, [return] and [backspace] work fine, but not when you're connected to the vnc session. There are no errors or warnings in the xrdp logs. I have other newer xdrp servers I can talk to fine and other apps can talk to this server fine.

Any ideas ?

Hi Stuart,
Are you using an external keyboard? This is a straight VNC session, correct?
To get the version of Remoter, hold the iPhone in portrait position (so you don't have to scroll), and tap on the top-right button (settings), then select "Help / About".
This is a very strange problem.
