SSH Keys > "Import" into Remoter

Postby Twobit » Tue Jun 19, 2012 8:32 pm

Good Day All,

We are extremely impressed by the Remoter application for supporting SSH tunnels and RDP/VNC/ScreenSharing and are looking to extend this to our organisation.

However, it appears we are unable to load/import the PPK files to Remoter. We currently issue a single PPK to each user for use in multiple services, and every month we regenerate and publish the keys back to the users for security reasons. Each user has an iPhone, iPad and MacBookPro - meaning we need to generate a key on each device (no iCloud sync for keys) and add it to our SSH server.

The FAQ states: - "In Remoter, go to the SSH Key Manager, Tap on +, and select “RSA SSH2″. In a minute the key will be ready, tap on it to rename it something easier to remember like : “remoter_on_my_iphone”. You can also add a passphrase here if you want the added security."

Is there a way we can add the key? It would be good to have a "Open In Remoter" from another application like WebDavs/DropBox/Box/Email for this task - however iTunes is acceptable.

Regards

Well.. It seems like dropping the PPK file into Remoter via iTunes allows the key to show up in the list (not tested yet).

Would it be possible to include a Open With Remoter in the future releases?
