I barely know what to ask.

I am not exactly sure what to ask so I need a little/lot help

I have an old DELL desktop that will go to sleep as desired. "Wakes up" easily with touch of keyboard

I can get VNC remoter working OK - I can view, mouse, work on the remote PC, etc. So far so good.

The remote DELL PC bios is configured:
ACPI suspend type : S3 (my only choices are S1 and S3)
Wake up by PCI : Enabled

So I put the PC to sleep and press WAKE on the VNC. "WAKE ON LAN Packet sent!", says it. Nothing happens

I try to Start my session with the remote PC and I get back: "Disconnected. Remote PC 'DELL PC' Port 5900 refused the connection.
This usually indicated the remote PC is not running a VNC server in the specified port..."

The VNC server on the Dell says under connections " Accepts connections on port 5900"

I hit any key on the keyboard and the PC wakes up. And I can reconnect with my IPAD

[I have no real idea what I am doing. I just read these instructions on the internet.]

So

Is there something else I am supposed to do to get my IPAD to wake up the Dell remotely without the keyboard pressing step.

Thanks in advance for help

Hi,
You need to make sure your Dell machine supports Wake-On-LAN. You might need to enable this in the BIOS. Also, most computers only support wake-on-lan for ethernet connections. Please contact Dell for details on how to enable this for your system.

Hope this helps,
Raf.
