RDP Alternative Port

Postby scheesman » Wed Feb 29, 2012 7:46 pm

Is there a way to supply an alternative port number for RDP? On the Windows and Mac RDP client, you can specify it as hostname:port (as I think is pretty standard). We have scenarios quite regularly where we need to stack RDP sessions on a single IP, so we may run on ports 9000-9005, etc. We also have situations where we move RDP to a non-standard port for security reasons.

I tried just adding the port number via the method above and it disconnects immediately. Is there an alternative method or a workaround for this? Thanks...

scheesman,

Please go into the advanced settings for your RDP session, and look for the "RDP Port" field. You can enter another port there.

Thanks,
Raf.

Of course it's that simple! I didn't even see the Advanced button until you mentioned it. Thanks for the quick response.
