You Can't Purchase This

Postby garykawamura » Mon Oct 17, 2011 9:30 pm

I've just purchased Remoter: Remote Desktop (VNC) for my iPad. I tried to purchase the "RDP Add On" but I get a message saying "You Can't Purchase This - You must have purchase the app that this item is for before you can purchase the item".

Maybe I have to give it some time?

Thank you,
Gary

That's an interesting iTunes App Store error. Make sure you're logged in with the same itunes account that you used to purchase Remoter.
Otherwise, I agree, you might need to wait a bit for Apple's servers to update.
Maybe this glitch is affecting other apps as well, and it might be resolved soon.

Hmmm... I tried purchasing Remoter Complete, and I get the same message.

Hi again,

Like I said before, please make sure you're logged in with the same apple ID you used when you first bought Remoter. Apple doesn't allow to you to buy in-app purchases with a different appleID than the one that is associated with the app itself.

Hi,
I'm an iOS dev also, coming here while choosing a VNC app.
Here my two cents:

The problem encountered by OP is often related to having downloaded the application from a different Store that the one where his/her account is linked. And the later is from the same country as the credit card registered to pay. Delete the app, go to the right Store and install it again.
