VPN connection works fine

I can connect through VPN, but cannot browse the network shares.? Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? If I'm connecting to a remote network with the same IP scheme as my local network, I cannot browse the shares on the remote network. The VPN connection works fine, but for some reason I cannot see the server I'm connecting to. Both clients are not willing to change their IP scheme (ie. IP scheme is 192.168.1.XXX for both locations.)

I'm not sure exactly which VPN you're using, but I recently set up Apple's Lion Server's built-in VPN. The docs I read basically say having both ends using the same subnet makes your VPN connection unstable. Assuming you don't have actual IP Address conflicts you may be able to browse shares by IP. smb://192.168.1.2/sharename or afp://192.168.1.2/sharename

But again, with BOTH ends using 192.168.1.x your iDevice has no way of building a good routing table. It's a problem at the TCP/IP level that everything else will be building on.
