Thanks for the screenshots!

The problem is that you're on 3G. You need to be on WiFi (and the same WiFi as your mini) to connect using the local IP address. To connect from 3G (or anywhere on the internet) you have two options:
1- Follow the guides, and help from the forum: This means configure your router to forward port 5900 to your mini. And get a dyndns hostname.
2- Wait a couple of weeks for Remoter 2.6 (may end up calling 3.0), and get Remoter Complete (or an add-on). As this version will allow you to connect from the internet without you having to mess with your router, or dyndns.

Raf.

Edit: fixed spelling of dyndns

Hi cliff!,
Make sure your Mac's ip hasn't changed. If you're using DHCP, your IP might change every time you wake your computer up, or reboot. You can avoid that by assigning the IP manually on the Mac. Or if your router supports it, by having the router assign you always the same IP based on the Mac's hardware address.

Does the dyndns ip updater take care of this?
Will look at the ip address.
Thanks

No, dyndns takes care of your public IP address. I'm referring to your Mac's private IP; the one your router is redirecting traffic to. If it changes, the router port forwarding stops working.

Now running 10.6.8. Can log on using local wifi. However using g3, I can establish connection,
But it eventually times out. Ip addresses look ok, as well as router ports.
Since upgrading to 10.6 this has been the problem.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Please try disabling "Connection Heartbeat" in the "Remoter Config" screen. Hope this helps!
