No MAC-adress configured, Wake-On-Lan package cannot be send

Hi Raf,

it's a shame but I have problems setting up _any_ (first) connection from my IPad 2 (WLAN) to a Linux PC (LAN).
I was using only the IP-Adress and a valid username and password - but I think remoter does not come so far.
I can ping the IP from my IPad with e.g. "Free Ping" successfully.

I've purchased the SSH-Addon and that was my first try to connect my Linux-Laptop.
Without success.

Now I've tried a VNC-connection after setting up vino on my host.
Without success.

Both times I got the error-message (German) "Keine MAC-Adresse eingerichtet, Wake-On-Lan Paket kann nicht gesendet werden"
Translation in English: "No MAC-adress configured, Wake-On-Lan package cannot be send"

I've checked a MAC-adress of my IPad in "General settings - Info - WiFi-Address" and identified a MAC-Adress which is also accepted and shown by my internet WLAN-router.

I'm not unfamiliar with linux and ssh/vnc so I think it must be a basic problem.

What is missing? - Where is my fault?

best regards

Jens

Remoter Version: 2.4.1 installed on IPad 2 iOS 4.3.2 (German Version - maybe that is a problem?)

Hi Jens,

The reason you're seeing that message is that you're pressing on the "wake" button. To start the session, simply tap in the middle of the button right on top of the "start" text (main screen). Or on "Start" if you're in the Sessions list screen.

Hope this helps,

Raf.

Oooh - what a shame. I think it was too late for me on a hard working friday
- Sorry. As usual it was a problem sittting before a computer ;-)

Thanks very much. Everything is working fine if the user is doing the right things.

Best regards

Jens
