Full screen mode, no menubar (OS X)

I've recently purchased the iOS version of Remoter, which I use on an iPad Air 2 with iOS8.1.1.
When I connect on my MacBook with Yosemite and enter fullscreen mode, the OS X menubar disappear behind Remoter's toolbar, making it virtually impossible to conduct a whole lot of actions. I've been looking and changing settings to no avail. FYI iOS' bar (with the clock, network indicators, etc.) is visible too in fullscreen mode.
Could you please confirm if it's a bug or some setting I haven't found?
