Remoter Pro does not work on iPhone 6 Plus w iOS 8.0.2

When I start the app I get the hint overlay to click on the plus to add my first session. Clicking on the plus does nothing but make the plus lighter ('pressed'). When my iPhone goes black/to sleep the app crashes.
I tried syncing my sessions from my iPad. They loaded fine (I got the message saying 4 sessions loaded). But when I try to select the category for the session I want (for example VNC) the app crashes. After that the app refuses to open.
I tried re-installing (from the App store) but that didn't change anything.
I tried using it on a different network (both Wifi, but one my home network and one my work), that didn't change anything either.
