Have to re-purchase add-ons for different device?

I bought the ssh add-on for my iPad. It works great, but I have to re-purchase it if I want to use it on my phone. Is this intended?

No, Remoter add-ons are what Apple calls "Non-Consumable" in-app purchases. This means you only buy them once per iTunes account, and you can use them on all your devices.

You still need to go through the purchase process for each device, but you will only be charged once.
