Help with UltraVNC for Win7 64bit

Postby gatattat » Sun Mar 20, 2011 5:09 pm

I can remotely view my PC with my iPhone 4 on Wifi, but not remotely with my iPhone 4. I am running the latest ios 4.3 on it.

I have a 2wire 3800HGV-B router that I got with my AT&T Uverse. I followed the instructions on this page, but I still can't get it to work. http://portforward.com/english/routers/ ... traVNC.htm

I even turned off my symantec Norton 360 firewall to make sure that wasn't the issue. I thought I added the ports to that firewall as well in case that was the issue.

Every time I try to remotely login to my PC it says "Error Connecting to Server".

I would appreciate any help!

Thanks!

Make sure you have your public IP (or a hostname like the ones provided by dyndns.org) entered in your "VNC Hostname" field in Remoter.
Version 2.01 will add a better error message exactly for this case.

I got it working. One last question. For Wake On LAN, does my computer have to be hard wired to the internet?

Thanks!

Yes, WoL requires the computer to be connected via ehternet. That's why it's "wake-on-LAN", stressing LAN. There is no system to wake a computer via wifi that I'm aware of.
