I can't get the external keyboard to work while ssh'ed into a linux machine. I enable the external keyboard setting. When I click on the keyboard icon I only see the function keys. My input from the external keyboard is not recognized. The keyboard itself is working with the iPad.

And now I've disconnected the keyboard, disabled the Bluetooth, set the external keyboard setting to NO, and I can't pull up the virtual keyboard.

Good catch. I just recreated the problem. I'll create a ticket immediately, and this will be corrected for 2.01.

As a work around, please try setting the "External KB" setting to "No", and just tap the keyboard button when you need to use the external/internal keyboard.

You will have to restart Remoter now that it's stuck in this bad state. Just closing it via the home button is not sufficient. First close it via the home button, then open the multi-task bar by double tapping home, then tap-and-hold on Remoter, then close it with the close (-) button.

Edit: This might be a 4.3 only issue, btw. Is this your firmware version?

Thanks for the quick response. I will test this evening when I get home.

It's been submitted to Apple. But that doesn't mean it's available for download. It might take up to 10 days for Apple to review and approve the update.
