Thanks for the videos. That's exactly how I've set up UVNC and Remoter, but I'm having the same problem. The only difference I see is that I'm using UltraVNC 1.0.9.5. Do you think that might be the problem?

That's the most likely answer. I'll look into what's going on with 1.0.9.5; they probably added a new authentication mechanism. For now, please use 1.0.8.2.
I'll let you know what I find out.

Downgrading to 1.0.8.2 worked; I can now connect.

There's another weird issue, though. I have a two monitor setup, and though I'm viewing my main monitor through Remoter, the mouse cursor is appearing on the secondary monitor. Any ideas about that?

That's bizarre. I just tried it in my two monitor set up and worked fine for me. Not sure why that's happening to you. Does it happen if you connect to your machine with other vncviewers?
