Symptoms:
Able to establish a connection successfully but it takes a LONG time to connect (estimated >1 min).
Audio comes through my iPhone but it is very choppy and delayed - for example when listening to audio streaming in iTunes, the iPhone will be spitting out blurbs of the previous song after the iTunes player is 45 seconds into the next song!
Screen updates are extremely slow, even after forcing a manual update (i.e. >15 seconds estimated)
Mouse clicks also take a long time to hit the server. (>15 sec delay to close a window, IF the window is still there!)
System & Configuration Information:
Remoter VNC version: 3.2
Remoter Fusion version: 0.8.5 on server (MacBook)
Device: iPhone 4
iOS: version 5.0.1
Remoter Fusion setup: Off (had problems with Remoter Complete so turned this off)
Remote Management turned OFF in System Preferences. (Configured manually using OS Screen Sharing settings --> VNC password ON)
Server type: VNC / Screen sharing
VNC port: 5900
Server: OSX Snow Leopard (10.6.8) running on Macbook
JPEG quality: default
Compression: default
Color depth: 16bpp
Heartbeat setting: off (default but tested it with ON and there was no perceptible difference)
Router: NETGEAR MR814v2
Manual port forwarding: 15900 and 5900 to server local IP (192.168.0.4)
UPnP: TCP, UDP on 29350, forwarding to another local computer (unrelated but might be relevant?)
Anything I can tweak to reduce the latency?
If you need any other information just let me know.
Cheers.
