3G Connection Problem

Postby VanKap » Sun Sep 11, 2011 5:32 pm

First of all, appreciate your timely response to customer support including the quick turn arounds to fix known issues. Here is the background and problem submission for a continuing problem with 3G access:

Devices: iPhone 3GS ver 4.3.5 and iPad2 ver 4.3.5

Remoter Ver: 3.0.1

Usage: Both devices are configured to connect with VNC over SSH. Other modes not used.

Problem: The Remoter software was first purchased and successfully employed on wireless and 3G on 25 May 2011. It worked well for about 2 months. Then around July or August, the software failed to successfully display the remote desktop when in a 3G mode. Wireless continues to work fine.
Ver 3.0.1 symptoms include displaying the appropriate readouts creating secure tunnel, connecting VNC & connection established. The screen remains in connection established display and after a period of time, the screen reveals the desktop momentarily but then repeats the connecting cycle and after the second attempt crashes. Prior to ver 3.0, the software would not recycle but generally crash after the first failed connection....all other symptoms remained the same. I also travel frequently and have attempted the connection in other locations . Occasionally, I've had the software connect in California using the 3G mode but very rarely.

Any suggestions or tips to improve 3G operation would be appreciated. Thanks Again.

Hi VanKap,

Not sure why you're having problems, but they could be caused by a slow connection speed. Please try disabling the heartbeat message. You can do this in Remoter Config - Other Settings - Connection Heartbeat.

Hope this helps,
Raf.

Thank You.....Disabled the heartbeat and all is now well. Tested 3G on both iPad & iPhone with successful connections & displays. Really appreciate the prompt turnaround and online support!:D
