File transfer to/from iPad and computer

Would be nice if there was a way to retrieve files from the remote computer so that the file could be edited othe iPad by local iOS apps and then send the file back to the remote computer.

I recommend one of the great third party utilities such as DropBox for this.

Those of us doing admin work would probably benefit from some minimal file access to grab logs or edit config files... However iOS does make this cumbersome.

I understand, but adding file editors to Remoter is beyond the scope of the application. It's unfortunate that because of sandboxing, files potentially retrieved by Remoter would be only visible by Remoter.

Looking at how dropbox works, you can download the files to the applications sandbox, then offer to open it in another application which can then open it, or choose to directly email the file as an attachment.

Not bad ideas. I'll have to reconsider my stance on the matter.
Still a big issue is that all VNC servers like to do this differently.

Thanks for the feedback,
Raf.
