URL Scheme

URL Scheme

Postby OneST8 » Sat May 14, 2011 1:26 pm

Hello,

Not sure if this exists or not but is there any way I can launch Remoter from within another app? For example: remoter://hostname:port?password=XXX

Thanks!

No, this is not supported at the moment. I'll add it to the trac database so it can be integrated in a later release.

One more vote for that! If you can make this work with a URL scheme I would be eternally grateful! Something unique preferably, like 'remoter://hostname?password=******&port=****&depth=8'

Thanks!

Hi printgeek,

This was added in Remoter 3.0. The format is follows standard URL schemes. "vnc://" or "rdp://" or "ssh://", etc.
Example:
vnc://username:password@hostname:port

I noticed that this generates a _Rename_ME_ saved object... I think it would be better if it defaulted to the host name / IP from the url as a more meaningful option or have the option not to save the session?

Good idea, I'll see about using the hostname.

Thanks,
