Remoter VNC 3.4 is out! (3.4.1 now)

Postby raf » Tue Feb 28, 2012 8:00 pm

Just released: http://goo.gl/raeEX

Fixes for 3.4.1:
-Fullscreen keyboard/trackpad buttons are back
-RDP over SSH disconnection has been fixed
-Fix crash on Paste with empty pasteboard
-Fix for: External keyboard Control+key causes unwanted repetition
-Right-click via tap-and-hold fixed
-Fixed: Top toolbar in legacy mode missing buttons
-Fixed: Problems with old (1st and 2nd gen iPhones and iPods) running firmware < 4.0.

What's new in 3.4:
-New version of RDP library: more compatible and faster
-External keyboard: special keys supported (command, alt, control, escape, F-keys, arrow keys, home, end, page up, pagedown)
-Updates to VNC library
-RDP cursor shape supported (remote mouse pointer)
-Ability to run multiple sessions simultaneously: Switch between them using the session list.
-Terminal: Added support for blinking text and cursor
-Terminal: Added font size selection
-Keyboard Mappings: Added Finnish mapping file from user Juha Julku, removed old French layout, French-Canadian mapping file by Stéphane Cohou
-Better double-click detection
-Added 1280x800 and 800x1280 resolutions to RDP
-Renamed "Folder" wording with "Category", as this term is easier to understand
-Added RDP bitmap cache option. Some RDP servers might require this option being disabled
-Updates to URL scheme handling (see http://goo.gl/uUS05)
-Added support for user@domain format for RDP username
-Added "Paste" to tap-and-hold menu
-Paste updated: now any text available (even if it contains special formatting) is pasted (sans-formatting)
-Optimizations by using GCD when supported for messaging
-Added option to specify if SSH uses Control-H or Control-? as backspace character. Default is now Control-?: this doesn't conflict with emacs
-Italian, German and Spanish localization updates
-Design updates

Bug fixes
-Fixed some memory issues
-Fixed issue where removing sessions was not instantaneous
-Fixes to NetBIOS machine discovery to prevent a crash situation when pressing clear
-Fixed bug with base64 library that could cause potential crashes
-Fixed crash in -over SSH sessions caused by terminal rendering being enabled unnecessarily
-control, alt, shift, command, windows-key state is now persistent between invocations of the special keys toolbar. (And thus, in sync with the server).
-Fixed problem that was causing RDP to crash Remoter on an unclean disconnection
-Fixed problem where "Canceling…" alert would not go away. Now, if the cancel button is pressed, then the alert goes away if it's already displaying "canceling"
-Fixed gesture recognizer so that it doesn't disable the external keyboard. This was causing the external keyboard from being dismissed after a couple of seconds

Thanks for a great upgrade! :D

I had a problem directly after upgrading, but I figured it out after a while.

After I had upgraded all my RDP over SSH stopped working! I don't know why but it had something
to do with Audio settings. Not until I set Audio Mode to None (from Adaptive) did I get the RDP to
work again.

I don't use audio, so I don't really mind. Just happy I got it working again ;)

Regards

Yes, another user also reported problems with his RDP over SSH connections yesterday. I looked into it, and corrected the actual source of the problem.
I'm glad to hear you found a work-around! Thanks for sharing.
