Still getting random crashes in 1.0.8

Still getting random crashes in 1.0.8

Postby maclemming » Thu Jun 14, 2012 6:25 pm

I am still getting random crashes every couple of days in the new 1.0.8. I have been seeing these ever since 1.0.4. They happen every 3-4 days. I mostly use VNC over SSH. When it crashes, I am doing something with the mouse; either moving a remote window, or clicking on something in the VNC window.

Thanks for the report, maclemming.
Do you keep Remoter running during those 3-4 days periods, or is it a freshly started copy of Remoter crashing?

Thanks for the log/dump files, really useful!

Raf.

I leave it running, but I disconnect the sessions before I leave, and re-connect when I return the next day. The app is open and idle during that time, although the computer is usually asleep overnight.

HI, I'm getting a lot of Remoter for Mac 1.08 crashes too. I've had to relaunch & reconnect a number of times to continue a remote session that was about an hour. The remote Mac does not seem to notice when Remoter Mac crashes at my end, I can re-connect (VNC over SSH) and continue. Even though both sides have fast internet, remote session was jerky & stalled often, probably not Remoter's fault, but not sure why that was happening.

Me: iMac intel 2.16 GHz, 3 mb ram, OSX 10.6.8, 20 MB/s internet. Remoter Mac 1.08
Remote Mac: relatively new intel iMac 4mb ram, OSX 10.7.4 Lion, also has Timbuktu Pro installed. (But TB2 has it's own issues with Lion).

Crash usually happened when I was clicking, or waiting for a screen refresh.

This was happening last night, and I have used Remoter Mac since then Are there any logs you might find helpful? If so, which & where will I find them?
Thanks,
Dave Nathanson

Thanks for your willingness to help! I'm getting really close to releasing a new beta (prob next week).

Thanks,
