SSH: Cannot enter at-sign ("@") and other special chars

Hallo

I have the latest Mac-Remoter-App on my iMac with Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite).

When I establish a SSH-connection to a SSH-Server, I cannot enter the at-sign ("@").

I have a german keyboard layout, where Alt-L should produce the sign, but nothing happens in the terminal.
(Anyhow I think that the keyboard-layout should be transparent to the application, shouldn't it?).

I also cannot enter a backtick-sign ("`").

I searched the whole application but I didn't find any place where I could configure something in this direction.
What can I do?

Thank you very much in advance and best regards
Stephan
