[seemingly solved]SSH tunnels for proxy surfing...

Hiho all,

just playing around with Remoter (nice thingy :) ) and thinking about purchasing a license.

Very happy with design, usability, and most stuff seems to work just fine.

Just one prob:

I use a SSH tunnel to connect to one of my VPS linux boxes and use it as a proxy with tinyproxy.
Works great, if I use the ancient "SSH Tunnel Manager" or set up the tunnel manually via a Mac console.

But can not get it to work with Remoter.

It connects just fine and opens a terminal for the remote user - but somehow the port forwarding does zip, zilch, and no proxy can be reached...

Command line taken from SSH Tunnel Manager looks like that:
Code: Select all
ssh -N -p 2323 -C -c 3des username@85.119.***.*** -L 2713/localhost/2713

Just entering the port forwarding in the advanced SSH settings seems NOT to do the trick or I am missing an incredibly simply point ;-)
thanks for enlightening me!

Update: whatever it was, it seems to be fixed in the latest beta - just installed 1.3.5 and my tunnel works now... thanks and heading off to the store :)
